On February 27th, 2012, Blaike Bibbs and Dylan Frick met and officially chartered the Union County Teen Democrats. There were almost 10 members in attendance, ready to become a part of the NCATD. Aside from chartering, they are currently busy coming up with ideas to get the vote out as well as register voters in Union County. They also are trying to find ways to bandage the problem with education and drop out rates in the county. The group normally meets at the Old Armory in Monroe on every third Thursday. But, the group meetings will vary depending on conflicting schedules. If you have any questions, or if you would like to join the group, please contact Dylan Frick or President of the UCTD Alisha Hartley at teendemspres@yahoo.com !

What is the North Carolina Association of Teen Democrats?
The North Carolina Association of Teen Democrats (NCATD) is the official high school auxiliary of the North Carolina Democratic Party. The NCATD is a statewide organization made up of local chapters all across North Carolina. It was founded by former Governor Terry Sanford in 1962, becoming the first state high school Democratic organization in the country. Through the NCATD, teens can play an active role in the Democratic Party and the political process.
What do Teen Democrats do?
Teen Democrats do many activities that are vital to the success of the Democratic Party. Here are just a few examples of things that people do in Teen Democrats:
- Help out Democratic campaigns and candidates
- Interact with Democratic leaders and officials
- Attend NCATD statewide events and meet other Teen Democrats from across the state
- Volunteer for local charities and causes
- Hold voter registration drives for eligible high school students
- Raise strong Democrats, who will one day lead the party
Membership is open to all Teen Democrats who between the ages of 13 and 19 and any Democrat regardless of age may be a non-voting associate member.
We will be conducting regularly scheduled meetings, watch this website for announcements.
