The 2017 Union County Democratic Party (UCDP) Annual Convention will be held on Saturday April 1 at the Old Armory Community Center, 500 S. Johnson St., Monroe. Doors will open at 9:30 am for registration, refreshments, and fellowship.  The convention will be called to order at 10 am and will adjourn at 11:30 am.  Business will include the election of UCDP Officers (Chair, 1st, 2nd, and 3d Vice Chairs, Secretary, and Treasurer), elect State Executive Committee members, and adopt resolutions.

The Charles L. Hunley Dedication Award will be presented by the  2016 recipient Mr. John Kibler and by Mrs. Frances Hunley to a local Democratic Party activist who has demonstrated outstanding and continued support to the UCDP. All Democrats are welcome to attend; however, only delegates elected at the precinct meetings will be permitted to vote.

The county convention affords one more opportunity to all Union County Democrats to participate in the building of the structure of the Democratic Party from the roots at the precinct level to the county and state levels. The presence of young Democrats from the newly reorganized Teen Democrats Auxiliary Committee will add new enthusiasm and ideas to the wisdom of the members of the UCDP who have supported the organization for many years.
