This organization chartered by the North Carolina Democratic Party executive committee at the state and county level is an integral part of the North Carolina Democratic Party.
OBJECTIVES:
- To increase the efficiency of government.
- To foster and perpetuate the ideals of the Democratic Party.
- To help acquaint voters and potential voters with issues and candidates.
- To promote the highest degree of justice for human welfare and happiness for all of the people of our county, state, and nation.
- To increase and promote fellowship in political action among Senior Democrats and with others working for the success of the Democratic Party.
Membership is open to all registered Democrats who have attained the age of fifty and any Democrat regardless of age may be a non-voting associate member.
We will be conducting regularly scheduled meetings, watch this website for announcements.
A program may be announced prior to the meeting in the Enquirer Journal and the Union Observer as well as here on this website.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic and the vulnerable population of our membership, we are no longer meeting in person but virtually. Members are emailed information on the monthly meeting, including the agenda, financial report, and minutes of the previous meeting. We meet at 1:45 P.M. on the second Tuesday of the month. Registered Democrats 50 and older can join online through our web page. Dues are $10.00 per year. We hope to meet you at our next monthly meeting.

November 2020 will be the most important election in our lifetimes. It is, therefore,
crucial that we employ an “all hands-on deck” approach. The work we do to help
increase voter eligibility and voter turnout can be the difference between saving our
democracy or risk losing it with another four years of Trump! You can help by
implementing your personal GOTV-My Targeted 5 campaign. (GOTV=Get Out The Vote)
The GOTV-My Targeted 5 is a campaign to which every concerned Democrat can contribute
as a personal effort by making a commitment to identify five (5) or more individuals whom you believe
are not yet registered to vote and/or individuals who believe that they are already registered but may
not be. For all individuals you identify, your goal is to:
• Educate unregistered voters on the importance of registering and voting in the 2020 November
Elections, and to provide them with resources that facilitate their ability to register and offer to
assist them, if needed.
• Educate registered voters on the importance of checking the status of their voter registration
and providing them with resources on how to do so. As we get closer to the 2020 November
Elections, follow up with them to ensure they’ve confirmed their registration.
